Today, two Lombardi trophies are prepared just in case one of them is accidentally destroyed in the celebration. Unlike the other famous trophies of the Grey Cup and the Stanley Cup, a new Super Bowl trophy is made every year, and the winning team gets to keep the trophy in their possessions.
Who Makes The Super Bowl Trophy?
Each of these magnificent trophies is hand-made by Tiffany & Co., world renowned master artisans. The trophies are made on their main workshops in Parsippany, New Jersey and are currently valued at $25,000 a piece. One Super bowl trophy stands 22 inches tall and weighs about 3 kilograms. In addition, it takes just about 4 months to create. The NFL logo and the words Vince Lombardi Trophy are engraved on the base. After the celebration and the awarding of the trophy to the winning team, the trophy is sent back to Tiffany & Co. to be engraved with the team’s name, score, and the date of the Super Bowl.
