St. Louis Rams
Based in the city of St. Louis, state of Missouri, the St. Louis Rams are one of the fighting American football squads that are currently filling in the western division membership of the NFC or National Football Conference. The St. Louis Rams has bagged three championships during the NFL tournament and one from the Super Bowl competition.
The Rams, as the team is also shortly known as, started playing in the year 1937, a year after their founding. They had their first game in Cleveland, state of Ohio. They are considered the subsequent reincarnation of the then Cleveland Rams football team, which was a 1936-37 American Football League charter member.
Even though the NFL confederation gave the membership to the same team owner, this NFL franchise officially became a detach entity because only four players of the team joined the NFL that was newly launched. No personnel of the team joined the NFL league. The four players were Mike Sebastian, Stan Pincura, Harry Mattos, and William Cooper.
The St. Louis Rams was also known the Los Angeles Rams when the club relocated to California in the year 1946. After the season 1979, the Rams transferred to the communities near the Orange County. They have played their home practice games in Anaheim’s Anaheim Stadium for five seasons. All throughout these seasons, they have kept the name Los Angeles. The team relocated east of St. Louis before the start of 1995 season.
The former St. Louis Rams was named the Cleveland Rams and Homer Marshman founded it in 1936. The nickname, Rams, hails from Fordham University’s nickname. Rams was chosen to pay tribute to the hard effort exerted by football players who were from that university. The Cleveland Rams was the name of the team for the period of 1936 to 1945.
From 1946 to 1994, the name Los Angeles Rams was known. The owner was Dan Reeves. This was the team who first entered the NFL team, west coast based. Reeves closed a deal to rent the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and this was the home game arena of the team from the year 1946 up to 1979.
Since the year 1995 up to the present, the name St. Louis football team is born. Under the conditions of the deal of the team with the Anaheim, the Rams was able to get the permission to grow a plot of land close to the stadium. Georgia Frontiere, the owner of the Rams also got permission to move the team. They relocated to St. Louis in the year 1995. The team was trained by around 26 coaches and presently, Scott Linehan is the team’s head coach.
Officially, the St. Louis Rams were the first football squad of the United States to have imprinted logo on the team’s helmets. When the football started in 1937, their team colors were a mix of black and red, highlighting the black uniforms and black helmets, with red sleeves and shoulders.
The St. Louis Rams logo is currently a combination of black and gold, illustrating the head of a ram, with its twisted horn. They also have a script logo that they used until 1994. The logo and script that they utilized until 1999 was a representation of the gateway arch of St. Louis.
The team has five retired numbers: 7, 29, 74, 78 and 85. The owners are Stan Kroenke and Georgia Frontiere. Charlie Armey is generally managing it. They have no known mascot or fight song yet they are being distinguished through their team colors, which are a combination of white, millennium blue, and century gold.
