Ralph Wilson Jr., founded and established the team we know greatly of today. He particularly chose the name Buffalo Bills to give tribute to the former Professional football franchise of Buffalo by his use of the name Bills.
The Buffalo Bills football team is composed of professional players that are based in the Buffalo, New York area. They regularly play their home games in the Orchard Park. The team is a member of the American Football Conference, a representative of the Eastern Division. The Bills began their very first competitive game more than 40 years ago in 1960. They were amongst the first original members of the AFL when it opened in 1960 before they merged with the NFL. The league also joined the AFL-NFL merger established in 1966.
Before the modern-day NFL was established the Buffalo Bills already won 2 AFL national championship titles both in 1964 and in 1965.
